Date and time

Fri, 15 Feb 2019 09:30 - 14:00 GMT

Location

Leeds Train Station

LS1 4DY United Kingdom

Description

This is a unique opportunity to explore Leeds' historic canals and contribute to keeping the city's beautiful waterways and green spaces clean and tidy. You'll spend the day volunteering with the Canal and River Trust to take part in fun practical tasks including clearing overgrown vegetation and removing plastics from the canal. There will also be the option to try canoeing along the canal!

You will meet our friendly Global Community Assistants at 9.30am in the entrance of Leeds Train Station and walk as a group to a nearby location where you'll attend a briefing session to prepare you for your role.

You spend the day outside, so we recommend you wear warm clothes, sturdy shoes and bring a waterproof coat that you don't mind getting messy. There will be shelter in case of bad weather.

Food is not provided, so please bring a packed lunch or some money to buy lunch from shops nearby.

There are 10 spaces available. Please only book a space if you are sure you can attend. If your availability changes after you have booked, let us know as soon as possible by emailing globalcommunity@leeds.ac.uk

Please let us know in advance in you have any medical conditions or access requirements by emailing globalcommunity@leeds.ac.uk.
